The objectives of these agreements are:
The protection of investments made by nationals of one of the contractual countries within the other’s
territory.
The stimulation of private economic initiative and investment growth in both countries.
The encouragement of both States’ nationals to invest in the other country by giving them the same treatment as local nationals of either country.
The advantage to the nationals from each of the two states of a prompt and adequate: indemnity in case of
prejudice.
The free transfer of capital and any other payment relative to investments in convertible currency and at the official applicable exchange rate.
